YouTube adds hilarious surrealism function
I’ve just tried the YouTube caption feature on the video that What Are You Worth put up last week.
I love it. It doesn’t seem to like my strange Scottish brogue so it replaces the things I actually say with random nonsense. I recommend you turn the sound down, click the red ‘CC’ box on the bottom right of the video and select ‘Transcribe Audio’.

I like ‘we need solutions that are truly appalling’. It reminds me of the ‘osbournes’ episode where Ozzy is trying to get the voice recognition in his new car to recognise his brummy accent. Funny. I had a pirate copy of the latest Star Trek’ film, which was in english, with english subtitles. Ambassador Spock was referred to as ‘that bastard Spock’. Funny also.
I’m sure there’s some more fun to be had with the subtitles thing. I’m pondering some ideas at the moment. I just need to get some coders interested in playing with it for free!
