Goodbye Poke
August 8, 2008
It’s a strange, sad and exciting day for me – it’s my last day at Poke. I’m leaving to spend more time working on my Unchained business. So I’d like to take the time to thank them for being such an amazing place to work.
Poke has been one of the most inspiring companies I’ve ever worked in. It’s full of frighteningly talented people who all just want to do great work. And – as you can see from a quick glance at their portfolio – they succeed on a regular basis. I wish them all the best and I hope to get the chance to do some stuff with them again in the future.
“So tell me more about what you’re going to be up to Dave”, I hear you ask.
Well, my whole reason for leaving is to get more involved with Unchained. A lot of things are about to kick off big stylee and it’s all very exciting. Over the next few months, we’re doing a big PR campaign, we’re refreshing the site, we’re going to be launching in other cities and we’re going to be adding eShopping.
But I’m not leaving the industry entirely. I’ll also be doing a bit of consulting. So please drop me a line if you want to borrow a bit of my brain in exchange for buckets of cash.
But for now, it’s back to clearing up my desk and backing up my personal data (no, I don’t mean porn).
Thank you Poke. It’s been a blast.

Thanks Anjali.
It’s scary and exciting and as I write I have less than 4 hours left of being a Poker.
Gulp!
