Why the internet will never work – the view from 1995

Asi found this great Newsweek article from 1995. Some dude (who must be kicking himself now) mentions everything that’s now happened on the web and says how it will never happen. It’s a perfect lesson on how you shouldn’t listen to everyone with an opinion.
Here’s my favourite bit:
Visionaries see a future of telecommuting workers, interactive libraries and multimedia classrooms. They speak of electronic town meetings and virtual communities. Commerce and business will shift from offices and malls to networks and modems. And the freedom of digital networks will make government more democratic. Baloney.
