If Saddam only knew
January 29, 2008I found a funny picture of a squirrel in clothes at lunchtime while searching for dog outfits (don’t ask). So I followed the trail that led back to where it came from. And it’s actually pretty disturbing stuff.
I know that there’s already something slightly peculiar about the kind of person who would domesticate a squirrel and then dress it up in outfits as a business. But the woman who does it used to be an American military pin-up and carries some of that war-mongering baggage with her into this new (already weird) venture. The above image is a dramatic reconstruction of the preparation of Saddam’s execution apparatus. She also does an image of the squirrel crying for the death of a soldier who bravely/stupidly threw themselves on a grenade. The tastelessness is quite incredible. I now feel that somewhere out there on the web is a reconstruction of Auschwitz with meerkats dressed up as stormtroopers lording it over a pack of ferrets.
If you’re an American patriot, please accept my apologies for being a woolly, liberal pacifist.
You can see more of the phenomenon that is Sugarbush Squirrel here.
