The latest erection in Shoreditch

January 25, 2008

I spotted this on the way into work this morning. I presume it’s some kind of joke. It’s a billposter advertising a new development called  ‘The Shoreditch Colossus’. Look at the shape of it and read the copy. It’s riddled with words like ‘tumescent’, ‘rimmed’, ’stimulating’ and ‘throbbing’. Someone has gone to a lot of effort for a knob gag. Good on them!

I love these little guys

January 25, 2008

When I make enough money to retire to my own farm, I want to have a field full of fainting goats. I don’t think I’d ever get bored of them.

A good day for a birthday

January 25, 2008

Birthday Haggis

This is clearly a good day to have entered the world. It’s my daughter’s birthday today. She turns the grand old age of 8. It’s also my fellow Poker, Simon Waterfall’s birthday. He’s just slightly older, I think. And, being Scottish, I have to tell you all that it’s Burns Night tonight, where we celebrate the birth of the great Scots bard. So here’s a wee bit of Burns for all of you:

Then catch the moments as they fly,
And use them as ye ought, man:
Believe me, happiness is shy,
And comes not aye when sought, man.
